Via DC Threads: Join DC Threads for an evening of VINTAGE FASHION, sewing chat and wine! On Wednesday, May 4th from 6:30-8:30 (at the Bits of Threads Sewing Studio) DC Threads will offer an insider’s look into the world of DC vintage fashion as well as offer tips about how to “refab” vintage finds. The gals at Ginger Root (Kristen, Erin and Nora), Lisa Rowan (of vintage blog fame – Quarter Life), and Shannan Fales (Junction Vintage and Resale Boutique ) will join us to share tips about how to “approach” a vintage store – what to look for, how not to get overwhelmed – and to demonstrate how to take a vintage or consignment find and “revamp” it into a fabulous garment! This is a truly unique opportunity to hear from DC’s most talented vintage fashionistas!!
Read more about the discussion at the DC Threads site.

Many thanks to everyone who shopped my first pop-up! Future Nana pop-up shops will be announced soon.

With a little encouragement by The Swapaholics, I organized a swap for the first-ever National Swap Day. Nana had just moved out of its U St. location and was taking a few months off before reopening in Mt. Pleasant. Open space = swap space, so we crammed in 100 women on a bitter cold Saturday in January. Friends of Nana and Quarter Life made the day a success by volunteering their time.

Fancy Little Things (QL’s First Swap Ever) was a fall fashion swap organized in September 2010 by Quarter Life, The Jobsessed, and Sisarina, and hosted at Sisarina HQ in Bethesda. We had two dozen attendees, more clothing than we could handle, and were able to make a donation—cash and clothing!— to New Endeavors by Women.
